I recently spent two weeks at the very inspiring Mawddach residency, please see recent Instagram posts for more on this. Finished work will be available soon on the website, I am working on a series of works on paper based on noticings and findings from my daily walks along the estuary (please look again soon, thank you).
56. Workshop from Sitting Quietly with the Moon, Forest of Imagination 2023
This year Forest of Imagination is celebrating it's 10th year and is at the Assembly Rooms in Bath. I made an installation where you could sit quietly with the moon or play with little trees to cast a big shadow of a forest.
My original ceramic artwork, photographed by John Taylor and projected. Workshop photo by Tallulah Lloyd-Allum. Moon music in the installation by Gus Wallis. June and July 2023.
58. 100 Trees, Sketches in Clay, 2020/21
100 Trees (Sketches in Clay)
Available, price on application.
This image is a detail of the installation of 100 trees, each can fit in the palm of your hand. They are made from various clays, slips, oxides and glazes. They explore my relationship with trees and each grows from the making process. The installation was made during the first Covid lockdown, a calming meditation of a tree a day for 100 days. The installation gradually became about many things beyond trees. This piece won the Bath Society of Artists Prize, and was on show as part of their annual open exhibition at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath. Also has been exhibited at the RWA in Bristol, Wells Art Contemporary, and the Michael Pennie Gallery.
